Synopsis

Joy Walker (Tisha Campbell) is a devoted single mother who has dedicated her entire life to caring for others—her church, her community, and especially her teenage son, Chaz (Jaden Lucas Miller), a promising basketball star.

When Chaz is suddenly diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor, Joy's world is turned upside down. She must navigate overwhelming medical expenses, difficult medical decisions, and the emotional toll of watching her son's health deteriorate. Along the way, she is forced to reunite with her former partner, Royce (Charles Malik Whitfield), as they confront their family's devastating circumstances together.

As the challenges intensify, Joy begins to recognize that years of putting everyone else's needs before her own have left her disconnected from her identity and personal dreams.

With unexpected support from Royce and the unwavering encouragement of her community, Joy embarks on a deeply emotional journey of self-discovery. Through heartbreak, sacrifice, and uncertainty, she discovers that reclaiming her own life may be essential to helping those she loves most.
