Founded in 2005 by James “JB” Brown and Len Gibson, the Peachtree Village International Film Festival (PVIFF) began with a vision to create a platform where filmmakers, storytellers, artists, and creative voices could connect, grow, and be celebrated.
Over the years, that vision has developed into a thriving organization supported by a team of more than 70 people—and continuing to grow each year.
PVIFF is the embodiment of the belief that “It Takes a Village.” Through the vision and leadership of its founders, the festival continues to bring together emerging and established talent, industry professionals, and audiences while creating meaningful opportunities through the power of film, entertainment, and storytelling.
Nearly two decades later, the vision remains strong: build the village, create opportunities, and give great stories a place to be seen and heard.
James “JB” Brown is an award-winning innovator, executive producer, composer, consultant, and advocate whose career spans more than 34 years across entertainment, fine arts, and healthcare. With industry relationships including BET, HBO, 20th Century Fox, Universal Music Group, Island Def Jam, and BMG, his work includes film production, executive producing, and scoring, as well as founding the Sweet Auburn International Film Festival and serving as Founder & President of the Peachtree Village International Film Festival. Beyond entertainment, JB is an author, philanthropist, and advocate developing initiatives in autism education, behavioral and mental health, and community empowerment. Guided by ethics, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting others, JB Brown continues to use creativity, leadership, and service to make a lasting cultural and community impact.
He obtained his BA from High Point University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. His qualifications as a cinema expert include teaching screenwriting on the collegiate circuit, producing film and television, consulting entertainment brands and more.
Not satisfied with the status quo, Gibson used his experience and education to develop two important contributions to American culture. In 2000, he launched GIPP Entertainment, followed by GIPP Museums, Inc. The acronym stands for “Getting Into People’s Perspectives,” a philosophy that drives both the African American Cinema Gallery (AACG) and the Hispanic Cinema Gallery (HCG). Gibson has been a part of launching numerous successful film festivals inclusive of founding PVIFF.
He obtained his BA from High Point University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. His qualifications as a cinema expert include teaching screenwriting on the collegiate circuit, producing film and television, consulting entertainment brands and more.
As Director of Operations for the Peachtree Village International Film Festival, M.S. Reid plays an integral role in bringing the festival's vision to life.
Working alongside PVIFF founders James “JB” Brown and Len Gibson, Reid helps oversee the organization, coordination, and day-to-day operations that make an event of this magnitude possible.
Her leadership and commitment help keep the many moving parts of PVIFF working together—from planning and logistics to supporting the people and initiatives behind the festival.

PVIFF was my introduction into the movies. And now, I handle a multitude of productions in the Film & Music Industry. My career wouldn't be what it is without PVIFF.
The screenings were amazing. But then to top it off, they had a Pitch Tent with Adi Cohen and others. That was a game changer for me.
